The Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2023 shows a luminous, translucent ruby colour, pale yet radiant with inner light. The nose is highly expressive, opening with pure red fruits such as wild strawberry, raspberry, and cherry, followed by delicate floral notes of rose, violet, and peony. With air, a deeper mineral core emerges, marked by limestone, chalk, iron, and wet stone. Extended aeration reveals subtle savoury layers of truffle, herbs, forest floor, and a hint of incense. On the palate, it is ethereal and weightless in texture, yet surprisingly concentrated, with vibrant fruit and crystalline acidity giving energy and precision. Tannins are extremely fine and seamlessly integrated. The finish is long, pure, and evolving, shifting from fruit to mineral to delicate savoury echoes. A transparent, elegant Grand Cru defined by finesse, lift, and mineral depth.
