Morey Saint Denis 2023

The Morey-Saint-Denis 2023 shows a deep, vivid ruby colour, combining the darker tones of Gevrey with the clarity of Chambolle. The nose is layered and expressive, opening with dark cherry, blackberry, and blueberry, lifted by violet, lavender, and subtle liquorice. With air, more savoury notes emerge, including sous-bois, damp stone, and dark chocolate, adding depth and seriousness. On the palate, it balances structure and finesse, with firm but refined tannins framing concentrated dark fruit. A mineral, almost chalky freshness runs through the mid-palate, maintaining tension and precision. The finish is long, savoury, and lightly stony, with dark spice and graphite notes. A distinctive, well-structured village wine with ageing potential.
