Vosne Romanee 2023

The Vosne-Romanée 2023 shows a luminous medium ruby colour, translucent and refined. The nose is highly perfumed, opening with red cherry, raspberry, and pomegranate, lifted by violet, rose petal, and the classic Vosne spice of cinnamon, sandalwood, and subtle star anise. With air, more complex notes of blood orange, kirsch, light truffle, and savoury nuance emerge. On the palate, it is silky and layered, with a seamless texture and flowing fruit profile rather than power. Fine tannins are almost imperceptible, and bright acidity provides lift and precision. The finish is long, perfumed, and gently spiced. A refined, elegant village wine with immediate appeal and ageing potential.
