Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Les Corbeaux 2020
Medium-deep ruby with garnet edges, showing both 2020’s concentration and early maturity; still transparent in Pacalet’s pure, oak-free style.
The nose is complex and evolving: black cherry, cassis, damson plum and sloe now edged with compote richness, dried fruit depth, and dark mineral intensity.
Iron, graphite, wet slate and smoky stone define the core, lifted by whole-bunch herbs (thyme, bay leaf, black pepper) and emerging notes of truffle, leather, and forest floor.
The palate is structured and powerful yet refined, with fine-grained tannins now integrated after four years in bottle and acidity that still brings freshness and drive.
The finish is long and mineral, dominated by iron, dark fruit, truffle and earthy spice, with a lingering savoury depth and firm Premier Cru architecture.
At a beautiful early-maturity stage now, with 10–15+ years of further evolution ahead.
