Domaine Heitz-Lochardet, Volnay Taillepieds 1er Cru 2017

An appealingly spicy and once again overtly floral-tinged nose speaks of herbal tea, dark berry and a whiff of red currant. The intense and beautifully well-delineated middle-weight flavors brim with minerality before culminating in a refined, dusty and ever-so-slightly drying finish. Note that rating assumes that this hint of dryness will progressively diminish with age.
