The Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru 2023 shows an almost impenetrable ruby-purple colour, deep and light-absorbing. The nose is initially austere, opening with air to dense dark fruits, intense minerality (iron, graphite, wet stone), and deep savoury notes of smoke, truffle, and spice, with hints of dried florals. The palate is monumental and powerful, with concentrated fruit and massive yet finely grained tannins providing architectural structure. Layers of fruit, earth, and mineral unfold with precision and balance. The finish is exceptionally long, evolving toward pure stone and iron. A profound, structured wine built for long ageing.
