Ruchottes Chambertin Grand Cru 2022

The 2022 pours a luminous medium ruby with garnet highlights, translucent and radiant, reflecting Pacalet’s emphasis on purity and terroir expression. The nose opens on a striking mineral foundation of crushed stone, chalk, and iron, before unfolding into dark cherry, wild raspberry, and blood orange.

Floral tones of violet, dried rose, and wild iris rise above the fruit, followed by a deeply savoury layer of truffle, forest floor, cured meat, and incense. With air, the mineral signature becomes even more pronounced, giving the wine a sense of vertical depth and tension.

The palate is precise and electric, with a tightly coiled core of dark fruit carried by crystalline acidity and ultra-refined tannins. Rather than breadth, the wine delivers focus and energy, drawing the palate inward toward its mineral spine.

The finish is long, vertical, and intensely mineral, echoing with iron, chalk, crushed stone, and floral echoes of violet and truffle. A Ruchottes-Chambertin of exceptional clarity and tension, built for long ageing — 2030 to 2042+.
